How to Remove Body Hair

Christina Humphrey was a house wife on a budget. That meant, for the most part, she was stuck with any body hair remover treatment that didn't involve an aesthetician, dematologist or some other kind of professional.

"Threading is about as far up the professional body hair remover food chain I go," she said. "And I myself don't like slathering on hair removal creams. Neither does my skin. At home I'm into waxing and sugaring. Sugaring mostly actually. And save threading as an unwanted or excess facial body hair remover.

"My hair salon has a person who does threading. All she does is take a piece of knotted thread and in essence creates a bit of a hair trap. One that twists out the hair by the root. Sounds gruesome I know. But it's really not that bad. In no time she can have my sometimes mono-brow all cleaned up and looking good.

Threading is a good body hair remover that works best on a flat surface. Like your face. But the bikini line? Forget it. Won't work there. It gives you a more precise way of shaping eyebrows than waxing.

Another alternative to waxing is sugaring. Used like wax, it's supposed to be less painful since it engages the hairs rather than your skin. And clean up is easier too. Not nearly as sticky as wax. Using this type of body hair remover gives me a hairless look that's good for about 10 days. Again, not permanent body hair removal but my legs sure look sleek afterwards.

"For me, one thing I've learned is to skip the waxing, sugaring or eyebrow threading when on my period. Seems to make me that much more sensitive to bruising or skin irritation that results from most any type of body hair remover."
