Laser Hair Removal For Woman

Shannon Gickler traces her desire to get rid of her unwanted body hair back to her college days. "Sure. My friends and I talked about hair removal by laser back in the day. Sick of the plucking, tweezing and shaving routine we dreamed of laser hair removal for woman. But given the costs back then that's about all we could do. Dream."

"Luckily in the past few years the cost of laser hair removal machines has dropped. So the price of treatment has dropped. Putting such cosmetic therapy within the reach of more and more looking to be hair free."

"Still when I made the appointment for my initial laser hair removal consultation I was admittedly nervous," Gickler confessed. "In my case the tech walked me through the process. She showed me the laser hair removal equipment and explained how it worked. It wasn't quite the light show I imagined."

"In this case, the salon used IPL or intense pulsed light technology for the laser hair removal treatment. It works by zapping hairs where they stand - in their follicles. Different wavelengths of lights penetrate to different depths to target hair follicles where they live."

Basically, with hair removal lasers, the pulses of light are fired through a quartz crystal. The pigment in the hair absorbs it so it can be funneled along the hair to destroy the cells that make hair grow.

Gickler went on "I was sorta surprised actually. The laser hair removal equipment is smaller and more compact than I expected. Theirs was mounted on a cart of sorts with wheels so it could be wheeled around. A wand is used to deliver the light to the targeted area. Zap. You feel like you've been snapped by a rubber band. And that's it. Laser hair removal for woman has never been so easy."
